![]() I was logged out in all my browsers, an when I tried to login again I was presented with the two step login where I should use the Lastpass authenticator app on my mobile. I have been a happy user of until now, but recently something has happened that has turned this situation totally upside down. I have used Lastpass for many years, and I am totally dependent on this password organizer. ![]() Sorry, when I was in grammar school we learned that a year of service for $3 a month would total $36. One has to subscribe for an entire year, and the total is $37.99. Oh yes, the many promotional lines on the website say that one can take out a premium membership "for only $3 a month." Even that turned out to be fraudulent. Suddenly my PC was no longer my primary device, and to get it back I needed to.guess what?.take out a premium membership. Since I did not want a premium membership, I took the other option. As a final insult, once I was able to register, my phone showed a window with the choice of changing my primary device or paying for premium membership. For example, how can one access a QR Code for LastPass Authenticator when the link for LastPass Authenticator (in contrast with those for Google and other authenticators) contained no link to a QR code? 3. In the end, it turned out that I was getting tripped up by extremely simple steps that never occurred to me and were nowhere in the literature described. My problems apparently were exceptional, and the articles, both those sent to me by Customer Support and those I googled, did not address my issues at all. LastPass tries to circumvent Customer Support with a collection of articles that addresses common problems. I finally solved it myself after long hours of trial and error. In reply I received links to articles that did not address the problem. I sent three detailed emails about my specific problem. Now one gets no service without buying the premium version, and the service I got was totally inadequate. Previously free version users could phone Customer Support and receive excellent thoughtful service. Since last year their policies and their service have become impossible: 1. It is actually an outstanding product, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of one or less. Two years ago I would have easily given LastPass 5 stars. When prompted, enter your email address, then click Send Email.Ī formerly outstanding product has become a ripoff. When prompted, click the I've lost my app name device hyperlink on the bottom of the window. Log in to LastPass with your email address and master password from your desktop or another device. Below does not exist on the LastPass website. 2FA needs to go and support needs to respond or class action lawsuits will certainly follow LastPass horrible customer service. What a complete failure in customer support. 24/7 support staff could have avoided the cost to myself and my financial institutions thousand of dollars and hours time. Did CEO Wager not consider 2FA when customers have lost or stolen phones. 30 extra hours of thieves with my credit card cost more that $2,000.00 in added credit card purchases I could have avoided if LastPass had simply responded to my email. ![]() I had to then purchase a phone to have LastPass call me and talk to support staff to have 2FA removed. over 30 hours later I received no response. ![]() I was asked security questions and answered. I first contacted 24/7 support to have 2FA removed. It is also impossible to remove 2FA yourself on the LastPass website, Although the website claims it is possible. I immediately went back to my computer to log into LastPass to cancel/lock my Cards. My phone case had 2 debit and 2 credit cards. While traveling in Europe my phone was stolen out of my hands while walking down the street.
